Terms of service
Last updated: January 1, 2026
Welcome to RoomsToHome.ca (the “Store”). When we say “we”, “us”, “our”, or “Rooms To Home”, we mean Rooms To Home, operating as RoomsToHome.ca. We run this online-only Shopify store and provide the website, content, tools, and services (together, the “Services”).
RoomsToHome.ca is powered by Shopify, which helps us deliver the Services to you.
By visiting, browsing, or buying from our Store, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.
1) Who can use our store
By using our store, you confirm that you are the legal age of adulthood where you live. If you allow a minor to use your device or account, you are responsible for their activity.
2) Your account and information
When you order from us, you may need to give us details such as your name, email, phone number, billing address, shipping address, and payment information.
You promise that:
-
The information you provide is correct and complete.
-
You are allowed to use the payment method you enter.
You are responsible for keeping your account details safe.
3) Online-only store
RoomsToHome.ca is an online-only store:
-
We do not have a public showroom for shopping.
-
We do not offer in-store pickup.
Before ordering, you should carefully review product details, sizes, and access requirements (doorways, elevators, stairs, hallways). We strongly recommend measuring first.
4) Our products (Ashley Furniture only)
Right now, we sell Ashley Furniture products only.
We try our best to show accurate photos and details, but:
-
Colors may look different on different screens.
-
Natural variations in wood grain, fabric texture, and shading are normal and are not defects.
-
Product packaging may look different from photos.
We may change product details, pricing, and availability at any time.
5) Orders and acceptance
When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy. We can accept or refuse any order at our discretion (for example, because of inventory issues, pricing errors, delivery limits, or suspected fraud).
Your order is considered accepted when:
-
We confirm it, and
-
Your payment is successfully processed (or financing is approved and completed).
After an order is accepted, it may be difficult or impossible to cancel, especially if it has already been submitted to the manufacturer or shipping carrier.
6) Prices, taxes, and billing
Prices can change at any time. The price you pay is the price shown when you place your order.
Prices may not include delivery fees or taxes unless clearly stated.
You agree to provide accurate payment information and authorize us to charge your payment method for the full amount, including applicable delivery charges and taxes.
7) Financing (third-party providers)
We may offer financing through third-party providers, including:
-
Fairstone
-
Klarna
-
Affirm
Financing decisions and terms are made by the financing provider, not by Rooms To Home.
Important billing note:
-
Financing transactions and/or some payments may show on your statement as New Furniture Gallery.
If financing is approved but you do not complete required steps within a reasonable time (usually within 7 days), we may cancel the order.
8) Shipping and delivery timelines (Ashley Furniture USA direct ship)
Most items are shipped directly from Ashley Furniture distribution facilities in the USA.
Even for items marked “in stock”, delivery timelines are typically:
-
Minimum 2 weeks
-
Up to 12 weeks
Delays may happen because of:
-
Cross-border shipping
-
Customs clearance
-
Freight scheduling and carrier availability
-
Weather or transportation disruptions
-
Manufacturer and supply chain delays
Delivery times are estimates only and not guaranteed.
Packaging note:
-
Boxes and shipping labels may mention New Furniture Gallery. This is normal and does not affect authenticity or warranty.
9) Delivery charges and distance calculation
Delivery charges are based on distance from the nearest of:
-
Toronto City Hall
-
Ottawa City Hall
-
Edmonton City Hall
We use standard mapping tools to calculate distance.
Delivery fee tiers:
-
0–40 km: $89.99 (Free on orders over $699.99)
-
40–80 km: $149.99 (Free on orders over $1499.99)
-
80–120 km: $199.99 (Free on orders over $1999.99)
-
120–160 km: $299.99 (Free on orders over $2499.99)
Extra fees may apply for stairs, limited access, remote locations, re-delivery, extended wait times, or special handling.
10) White-glove delivery and customer responsibilities
If offered, white-glove delivery may include room placement and light assembly.
You are responsible for:
-
Making sure access is clear and safe
-
Measuring doorways, hallways, elevators, and stairs
-
Being available to receive delivery during the scheduled window
We are not responsible if items do not fit due to access or measurement issues.
11) Delivery inspection and damage claims
Please inspect your items when they arrive.
-
If there is visible damage, it must be noted on the delivery paperwork before signing.
-
If damage is noticed later, contact us as soon as possible with photos and order details.
12) Storage fees
If delivery is delayed because you request it or delivery cannot be completed (for example, no one is available), storage fees may apply:
-
First 7 days after order readiness: free
-
After 7 days: $25 per day (per order)
-
After 30 days: the order may be treated as abandoned and may be cancelled
If cancelled, restocking and administrative fees may apply where allowed by law.
13) Returns, refunds, and restocking fees
Returns and refunds are handled only under our Refund Policy.
If a return is approved, restocking fees may apply:
-
Standard items: up to 20%
-
Special-order items: up to 30%
-
Refused delivery without confirmed defect: up to 25%
Delivery charges are non-refundable once delivery has been attempted or completed, except where the law requires otherwise.
Some items are typically final sale (subject to applicable law), including:
-
Mattresses once opened
-
Clearance/final sale items
-
Custom or special-order items
-
Assembled items (where applicable)
14) Price adjustments and promotions
Prices may change due to promotions or supply changes.
We may offer a one-time price adjustment if:
-
The exact same item is reduced on RoomsToHome.ca within 7 days of your order, and
-
Your order has not shipped or been delivered
We do not adjust prices for clearance items, flash sales, competitor pricing, or pricing errors.
If there is a pricing mistake on our site, we can cancel the order and refund you.
15) Backorders and supply chain transparency
Because we ship from the USA and rely on freight networks, delays can happen.
Even if an item shows “in stock”, it may still take time to dispatch and deliver.
If an item becomes unavailable after you order, we will contact you and provide options when possible.
In multi-item orders, items may arrive separately.
16) Price Match Policy (Canada only, store credit only)
We price match Canadian prices only, since we operate only in Canada.
We only match pricing from:
-
Ashley HomeStore (Canada website)
-
Wayfair.ca
-
Amazon.ca (only if sold and shipped by Amazon.ca or the brand/manufacturer directly; not marketplace sellers)
Rules:
-
Must be the exact same item (brand, model/SKU, color/finish, configuration)
-
Must be in stock and deliverable in Canada
-
We compare the total delivered price (including standard shipping/handling)
We do not match:
-
U.S. pricing
-
Membership-only pricing
-
Flash sales / lightning deals
-
Coupon stacking
-
Clearance/open-box/refurbished items
-
Pricing errors
Timing:
-
Request before order confirmation or within 7 days of ordering
-
Not available after shipment/delivery in many cases
If approved:
-
The difference is issued as store credit only
-
Store credit has no cash value and is not transferable
17) Manufacturer defects and warranty process
Ashley manufacturer warranties may apply.
If you believe there is a manufacturer defect:
-
Contact us with photos and details
-
We may help coordinate a repair, parts replacement, or manufacturer-approved solution
Natural variations in materials are not defects.
18) Extended protection plans (CPS)
We may offer optional protection plans through CPS (Consumer Priority Service).
These plans are run by CPS, not Rooms To Home. CPS handles coverage decisions and claims. If you purchase a CPS plan, you agree to CPS terms.
19) Personal use only (no resale)
Products are sold for personal residential use only. Commercial resale or bulk resale is not allowed without written permission.
We may cancel large orders that look like resale activity. Unauthorized resale may void warranties.
20) Fraud prevention
We may verify orders to prevent fraud. We may request extra information such as ID or address confirmation.
If we suspect fraud, we may cancel the order and report it to payment processors or authorities where appropriate.
21) Chargebacks
Please contact us first if you have a billing issue. If you file a chargeback without contacting us, we may respond with evidence such as order confirmations and delivery records.
Fraudulent chargebacks may lead to recovery of fees and costs where permitted by law.
22) Remote agreements and cancellation rights (Canada)
Because we are online-only, your purchase may be considered a “remote agreement” under consumer protection laws.
Depending on your province, you may have cancellation rights in certain situations, such as:
-
Required legal disclosures were not provided, or
-
Goods are not delivered within required timelines under the law
To use any legal cancellation rights, you must notify us in writing by email within the legally required timeframe.
Nothing in these Terms removes your mandatory rights under consumer protection laws.
23) Marketing messages (CASL)
We follow Canada’s anti-spam law (CASL). We only send marketing emails or SMS where consent applies.
You can unsubscribe anytime using the link in emails or by replying STOP to SMS messages. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop order-related messages.
24) Electronic agreements and signatures
By placing an order, you agree that:
-
We can send you information electronically (email/SMS)
-
Clicking buttons like “Place Order” counts as your electronic signature
-
Electronic records are legally binding
25) Third-party links and tools
Our site may include third-party services (Shopify, financing providers, etc.). Their services are governed by their own terms and policies.
26) Disclaimers
We provide our services and products “as is” and “as available”, to the extent allowed by law. We do not guarantee the site will be error-free or uninterrupted.
Some provinces do not allow certain warranty disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
27) Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Rooms To Home and its partners are not responsible for indirect or special damages (like lost profits or data) related to your use of the Services or products.
Where the law limits this, our liability will be limited to the maximum allowed.
28) Force majeure (events outside our control)
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our control (weather, supply chain delays, customs, carrier delays, strikes, disasters, government actions, etc.).
29) Disputes and arbitration (where permitted)
If you have an issue, contact us first and we will try to resolve it.
Where permitted by law, disputes may be resolved through binding arbitration in Ontario. This does not remove any rights you have under consumer protection laws.
30) Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and applicable Canadian federal laws. Alberta consumers also keep their rights under Alberta consumer protection laws.
31) Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time by posting a new version on our website. Continued use of the Services means you accept the updated Terms.
