Shipping policy

RoomsToHome.ca is an online-only store in Canada. We currently sell Ashley Furniture only. This Shipping Policy explains how shipping works, estimated timelines, delivery fees, and what to expect on delivery day.


1) Where we ship

We ship within Canada only.


2) How shipping works (Ashley Furniture USA → local warehouse → delivery)

Most items sold on RoomsToHome.ca follow this fulfillment path:

  1. Your order is processed through RoomsToHome.ca

  2. The product ships from Ashley Furniture (USA)

  3. The shipment is delivered to our local warehouse

  4. Our local warehouse delivery team (or delivery partner) completes the final delivery to your address

Because the product travels through cross-border freight and then moves through local delivery scheduling, shipping and delivery timelines can vary.


3) Shipping timelines (important)

For items listed as “in stock”, typical delivery timelines are:

  • Minimum: 2 weeks

  • Up to 12 weeks

These timelines are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

Delivery may be affected by:

  • Manufacturer dispatch schedules

  • Cross-border freight and customs processing

  • Warehouse receiving and processing

  • Carrier route availability

  • Weather and transportation disruptions

  • Supply chain delays

Even if an item shows “in stock”, it may still take time to move through this process.


4) Delivery scheduling (they will contact you)

Once your item arrives at the local warehouse and is ready for delivery:

  • The delivery team will contact you to arrange delivery timing

  • Delivery will be scheduled based on route planning and your availability

  • You must be reachable using the email/phone number provided at checkout

If we cannot reach you after reasonable attempts, delivery may be delayed and storage fees may apply (see Section 10).


5) Delivery fees (distance-based)

Delivery charges are based on the distance from the nearest of:

  • Toronto City Hall

  • Ottawa City Hall

  • Edmonton City Hall

We use standard mapping tools to calculate distance, and the nearest city center determines your delivery tier.

Delivery fee tiers

  • 0–40 km: $89.99 (Free on orders over $699.99)

  • 40–80 km: $149.99 (Free on orders over $1499.99)

  • 80–120 km: $199.99 (Free on orders over $1999.99)

  • 120–160 km: $299.99 (Free on orders over $2499.99)

Extra charges may apply for special delivery situations, including but not limited to stairs, limited access, remote locations, rescheduling, or extended wait times.


6) Standard delivery included: Free front-door delivery only

Our standard delivery service is:

Free delivery to the front door only (where applicable under your delivery tier/free-delivery threshold).

Front-door delivery means:

  • Delivery to the main entrance of the building/home

  • No carrying items inside the home

  • No room placement

  • No assembly

For apartments/condos, front-door delivery typically means:

  • Lobby/main entrance (or closest accessible entrance)

  • If elevators/condo rules restrict access, delivery may be limited to the permitted point


7) Extra services (available for an additional charge)

Extra services are available at additional cost, including:

A) Room of Choice

  • Delivery team carries items to the room you choose (where safe and accessible)

  • Extra charges apply depending on the order size, access, stairs/elevator, and complexity

B) White Glove Service

White glove service may include (where available):

  • Room placement

  • Light assembly (as applicable)

  • Packaging removal (if offered by the delivery team in your area)

White glove availability depends on your location and delivery partner capacity.


8) Customer responsibilities (very important)

To avoid delivery issues, you are responsible for:

  • Measuring doorways, hallways, elevators, staircases, and tight turns before ordering

  • Making sure access is clear and safe on delivery day

  • Ensuring someone is present to receive the delivery

  • Securing building permissions (condo bookings, elevator reservations, parking access, etc.)

If items do not fit due to access limitations, you may be responsible for:

  • Re-delivery fees

  • Restocking fees (if return is approved)


9) Packaging and shipping labels

Because products come through Ashley Furniture distribution, packaging may:

  • Be original manufacturer boxes

  • Show labels or references such as New Furniture Gallery

This is normal and does not affect product authenticity or warranty eligibility.


10) Delivery inspection (damage or missing items)

Please inspect your items as soon as possible at delivery.

  • Visible damage must be noted on delivery paperwork before signing

  • If damage is found after delivery, contact us as soon as possible with photos and your order number

Reporting quickly helps us support manufacturer/carrier resolution steps.


11) Missed delivery and storage fees

If delivery is delayed because:

  • you request a delay, or

  • delivery cannot be completed due to absence or blocked access,

storage and re-delivery charges may apply.

Storage fees

  • First 7 days after the item is ready for delivery: free

  • After 7 days: $25 per day per order

  • After 30 days: the order may be treated as abandoned and may be cancelled
